The Northwest Ohio’s River Region has announced Anhelica Rodriguez, a 12th grade student from Defiance High School, as the winner of their 2012 fall photography contest. Sammy Wank, a 10th grade student from Ayersville High School, placed second and Serena Di Stefano, a 9th grade student from Defiance High School, placed third. The Northwest Ohio’s River Region was formed to promote and encourage sales, enthusiasm and tourism in the Defiance, Henry and Paulding Counties. Boards of County Commissioners and Village Officials from the three-county region charged a committee of six to start small, create interest, and then grow the concept each year. The Northwest Ohio’s River Region held the photography contest to highlight Defiance, Napoleon, and Paulding Counties to attract visitors to the Northwest Ohio’s River Region. The contest was open to art/graphic design students in grades 9-12 who are residents of Defiance, Henry or Paulding County and attend a Defiance, Henry or Paulding County school. Prizes were awarded to the first ($100), second ($50) and third ($25) place. Rodriguez’s photo was among thirteen entries submitted from Ayersville and Defiance high schools in the photography contest. The Northwest Ohio’s River Region committee looks forward to announcing the dates for their next photography contest in the near future. . |
